To celebrate the establishment of "International Journal for the Study of Vajrayana Buddhism", may we have the honor to schedule the “Sixth Taiwan International Conference for the Study of Vajrayana Buddhism"  in  Taipei International Convention Center dated from Dec.12th and 13rd, 2009. The theme of this conference is "The past, present and future of the Vajrayana Buddhism studies" and mainly focus on the history of Vajrayana Buddhism, Sutras/Mantras, Cultivation of Vajrayana Practice and Applied Ethics.

 

 

From a historical point of view, the Vajrayana Buddhism derives from India and prevails to Tibet, China and Japan, evolving into the Tantric India, Tantric Tibet, Tantric China, Tantric Mongolia, Tantric Japan ... poles apart. With thousands of years of cultural integration and refinement, the doctrine of Vajrayana Buddhism and its cultural have been spreaded all over the world.

 

 

 

This is our 6th year for hosting the Taiwan International Conference for the Study of Vajrayana Buddhism. This year, we expect a broader perspective to view the development of Vajrayana Buddhism by the research from all facets of Vajrayana academic. This conference will focus on “history of Vajrayana Buddhism, Sutras/Mantras research, Cultivation of Vajrayana Practice and Applied Ethics" these four subjects.

  To promote the academic research and permanent sustainablity on the Vajrayana Buddhism studies in Taiwan, a composed of experts and scholars from the "International Association for the Study of Varjayana Buddhism" will also declare the establishment of the "International Journal for the Study of Vajrayana Buddhism" during the conference. The Journal is edited from the submitted papers all over the world and as well some excellent essays from the “Taiwan International Conference for the Study of Vajrayana Buddhism” may be extracted each year. This Journal aims at to be one of the THCI core journals of the National Science Council Taiwan.

   The first evening of the Conference will host the establishment ceremony of "International Association for the Study of Varjayana Buddhism" and the funded banquet of "International Journal for the Study of Vajrayana Buddhism" at the same location. Welcome join us. (Admission ticket is free but required for the banquet)

    There is a religious forum and discussion on second say in the conference. A number of religionists and invited scholars will speech the topics of cultivation practices and the exchange of experiences.
